At 1757hrs AFD was dispatched to a structure fire located at 5265 Stonega Rd.  Engine 3 arrived on scene and reported heavy fire and smoke showing from an outside garage.  Engine 3 assumed command of the incident.   An inital attack was made in the defensive mode to try and knock downt the heavy body of fire and protect exposures.  Rescue 3 was assigned to address the brush fire that was produced by the main fire.  The brush fire consumed about an acre before being brought under control.   AFD firefighter's overhauled the inital fire for final extinguishment..  After that was completed an investigation into the fire's cause was conducted.   At 1944 AFD fire command was terminated all AFD apparatus returned back to service.
